More from All American Week

So, today was the last day of "All American Week" at Fort Bragg.  They had all the different types of attack helicopters and different types of military vehicles that they use set up so we could go inside and "play" around.

After we went in some of the attack helicopters, they had an Airborne demonstration of how they would do an air field seizure.  It was quite amazing.  First, they had F-18s pass over and then some C-17s dropped HUMMVs, and other cargo.

Yes.... that is a HUMMV!

Then it was time for the Paratroopers to jump.
If only you could see all the paratroopers that were spread out over 3 miles.

Once the Paratroopers landed, Apache Helicopters flew over to provide cover.  Then they threw out the smoke to screen their movements as they moved towards the buildings they were to take over.

It gave me a greater appreciation of the work that Chris does and how much training they have.

Afterwards, the family decided to try on a parachute.  Just the chute is about 40 lbs.  Add your reserve, ruck, helmet, and your weapon, you're up to about 100 lbs.

It was a fun day for our family!

What a fun day for your family to go see what daddy does. Blake loves looking at the pictures of his cousins.

Very cool stuff! How fun that you get to see what Chris does! You make a parachute look good. How did Kayla and Austin hold them up??? They are strong! Miss you!

Chris and one of the soldiers were holding the back of the chute to help with the weight!
