Go Dodgers!

Baseball has consumed the lives of the Kahn Family.  A simple act of signing Austin up for Little League baseball, turned into Chris coaching, adding Kayla to the team, and me becoming team mom by default.  Chris told the Little League Board that if he was going to coach, he had to pick the name of the team.  So, Dodgers it is.
At our game on Friday, Kayla got a hit every time she came up to bat.  Our League is coach pitch so at her last up at bat she decided to have the coach pitch instead of hitting off the tee and she got a double!
Austin also did great.  He got hits off the tee, and got the ball a few times when he was catcher.  We are so proud of our little Dodgers!  Hopefully I'll be able to get more pictures.  I had to have Chris take these when he was in the dug-out because I was doing the scorebook.

My Love of Shoes!

For anyone who knows me, even a little, knows how much I LOVE shoes!  It looks like I'm passing that love of shoes down to my children.  Awhile ago, I caught them having fun with my shoes.  Kayla, you look FAB!  Austin, I think you are the only guy that can pull those shoes off!  I guess my kids are following in my foot steps.

Proof Austin used to have Curly Hair

Whenever Chris and I see a baby with tight, curly hair we always think back to Austin when he was a baby.  People don't believe us when we tell them.  Just last week, it happened again.  So, here's the proof.  We didn't cut the curls away, his hair just gradually got straighter as he got older and by the time he was 2 1/2, they were pretty much gone.  We do miss the curls, but we still think he's a very good looking kid!

I got this from my dear friend Shannon. I think that it describes me quite well except for a few things. I won't say what, you can decide for yourself.

What Jeanette Kahn Means

You are fair, honest, and logical. You are a natural leader, and people respect you. You never give up, and you will succeed... even if it takes you a hundred tries.

You are rational enough to see every part of a problem. You are great at giving other people advice.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life. You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.

People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.
Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.

Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

Cake

Last week Chris was in charge of planning a Hail and Farewell for his squadron. Basically, every time someone new comes to the squadron or leaves, they have a dinner and introduce the new people and say good-bye to the people leaving. Chris wanted me to make a cake for it and put the squadron crest on it. It's a little plain looking, but that is what Chris wanted.
Chris did a great job planning it and it was a huge success. Plus, it was a fun evening out without the kids.
