Field Trip to Fort Fisher Aquarium

This week Kayla's vertical team went on a field trip to the Aquarium.  I took the day and went with them.  It was a long, two hour bus ride.  Kayla brought her Nintendo DS with her to have something to do on the bus ride.  Most kids had some sort of video game to occupy themselves. Many kids had DS' like Kayla and starting chating on them with the pictochat.  It kind of blew my mind watching Kayla and the other kids chating with their video games.  Technology sure has come a long way since I was in school and went on field trips.

The Aquarium was fun and had a lot of neat exhibits.  It even had a hands-on exhibit where you could touch some of the sea creatures.  You can't tell from the pictures, but the fish, sharks, sting rays, and many, many other animals were amazing.

The Aquarium was on the beach, so after we were done there, we went to the beach and had a snack before we went home.  I think the sea gulls ate more than the kids.  They thought it was fun to hold their chips in the air and have the sea gulls take the chip from their hand.  Personally, I wasn't too excited about having a ton of sea gulls swooping all around me.  They came so close too many times to diving right into me.  Kayla's picture says it all.
