More of Charleston

I'm not one of those people who writes a lot.  I figure pictures are better and something that can be said in three sentences instead of a page, is just as good.  So, this post is out of character for me, and I hope it's not too long winded.
Our trip to Charleston was a lot of fun.  Thursday, we did a carriage tour, and took in the other sights of downtown Charleston.  It was VERY hot and humid!  I didn't think it would bother me so much, living in NC, but I have to say that I have it easy were I live compared to Charleston!

Friday, we went to the Magnolia Plantation.  When Kayla was a baby, I went to Charleston with my parents and sister and we visited the Boone Plantation.  I was not all impressed with it and had my doubts of going to another one.  However, the Magnolia Plantation far exceeded my expectations.  As you can tell, the houses on the plantations aren't all the grandeur you would think.  It's because most of the owners had their primary home in Charleston on the waterfront.

At the Magnolia Plantation, it had a tram tour of the grounds, a boat tour on the water where the rice field used to be, a tour of the house and a little petting zoo.  Austin was scared to get close to the animals.  It was not his favorite thing.

Kayla LOVED them.  She was in heaven.  At one point the deer came up to us and started licking our hands and wouldn't stop.  Then, one deer even tried to eat Kayla's hair.  They had all kinds of animals from deer, sheep, peacocks, pigs, horses, and even had a reptile house.

We really enjoyed our time there, and spent most of the day there.  I'm glad we went.  It was a fun little trip with my family.
